The ‘Ritu’ project is initiated to spread mass awareness regarding period and menstrual health.
The average age for a girl in Bangladesh to get their first period is at 12 years and 8 months, which is why the project works with school girls aged between 11-13.
Ritu aims to provide proper information and awareness to these girls regarding how to deal with menstruation in a healthy way. The project will work in a way that it would not only help girls practice healthy menstrual behavior, but also influence their parents, siblings, relatives and friends to be more aware and informed.
In many cases, girls in this country do not know enough about menstruation prior to their first experience. Their knowledge on menstrual hygiene management is much less. The Ritu project aims to spread mass awareness in such a way that the taboo is broken over time.
For this good cause of spreading mass awareness on menstrual health, popular actors Chanchal Chowdhury and Nusrat Imroze Tisha took their positions as ambassadors of this project.
